Ilminster green team

Today Moana syndicate from Wainui Beach School went to Ilminster to watch the Green Team Ilminster. We walk up the stairs to get our seats. By the looks of where they were performing it was going to be about rubbish.

When the first lot of people come on the stage there was 2 baby crayfish 1 nanny crayfish and a kina. The nanny crayfish name was nanny Koura. Nanny Koura started to tell a story to the young crayfish about the humans. The humans were at the skate park  one of the kids said today is the day i'm going to do the backflip. Ok here we go 1,2,3 wait I hurt my ankle yesterday.  Do you guys want some lollies yes we better go home now the kids dropped their bag of empty lollies on the ground. That is the last story Nanny Koura said time to got bed please one more story Nanny Koura no it is time for bed come on kina said ok then one more Nanny Koura said to the young crayfish

Do you want to here the story when I saved the world from the aliens yes said the crayfish. Beep as a alien ship landed on earth a robot walk on out of the ship he was looking at us students he was a gold robot then he said human litter and dump rubbish here perfect place to dump our rubbish. Then the king of rubbish planet and he's two alien friends walk of the spaceship. Bring me my chari and my launch box robot an you aliens go get the rubbish of the spaceship. Throw away the one use chari throw away the one use chari throw away the one use chari throw away the one use chari the 3 aliens said and the robot. The kids came back the next day what is all this junk in our skate bol they tried to move the rubbish bzzz ouch that hurt bzzz I think it is electric.

I really liked the play and I wish they had done one more play after but they didn't. It was really fanny that's is mostly why I liked it and the message. The End

The 7.2 earthquake

It Friday morning im sound asleep and then out of nowhere my bed started to shake I woke up and then started to wonder what was happening.  I went to my Mum's room and asked her what was happening and she it was an earthquake and I stood in the doorway.  My bed was on the other side of my room and all of my family members but my mum and i'm like what then I went back sleep.

My mum woke me and my brother and sisters up to get ready for school i'm like to my brother did you feel the earthquake and he said no I was like how did you not feel it.  

High Modality Words

 

The words a above are high modality words and in spag EL3 we had high medium and low. So we could use them in our speeches it was a little hard to find some worlds but the teacher said we could search them up.  

Action Day

 Hi my name is Cash and yesterday we had an action day. We were going to walk to the end of our awa Hamanatua stream. I was wearing gumboots lucky because it was raining really hard the night before. 30 minutes later we got to the first gate koka Rozie was explaining what to do around the animals on the farm.

Straight away we had to cross a little stream it was Hamanatua just it was a lot smaller I had gumboots so was fine but a lot of people had shoes and had to get wet. Splash swish as I walk across Hamanatua koka Rozie told us to go up the hill a little more.

I was watching people try jump over the stream but Lola jump then Rio had to throw her bag over you can tell by now that something bad is going to happen. Swing swing wee splash!! as her bag landed right in the middle of the stream she gets her bag and you tell thats she will be crying in the inside and Rio will be saying sorry the hole trip.  The End

Jean Batten Day

 Yesterday our teacher booked the hall for the whole day for Jean Batten day. My team 3 yellow got a card and we flip it over and we had to face it down to see the message it said where you put your bags. Go! the teacher said me and the rest of my team ran to the deck where put our bags. There was a message taped to the side of the wall....

Before lunch we got to make a paper plane you got given a4 piece of paper and it said Moth or Gull I got Gull I got to folding I had made it but I restarted and it was not the best. We got to test them to see what one was better my fist on I did was we had to glide our paper plane through the hoop the hanged up I was far of from making it because I didn't think I would. THE END

Cross Country 2021

Today we had Cross Country our class lined up on the deck, we started to walk down to the track. We got to the track the year six girls lined, on your mark get set go they ran away. I went to the start line Koka sue told us to do some warm ups, it came to the moment I could fell the nervous going down my body.

On your mark get set go!! I was sprinting as hard as I can I was in first for a little bit but then I got passed by all the fast people. I started to slow down and jog. Me and Stormur my friend were jogging on the sand then we went past all the year 5. Me and Stormur got to the ditch and was sprinting down the hill and past two people but going up the hill was hard we I just used all my gas.

Me and Reef were going to tie but he was in front of me so I started to run as hard as I could he looked back at me and sprinted and there was the finish line he was like 30cm in front but sadly he still bet me, I got 9th place. THE END

The Rugby Game

 HI im going to be talking about my rugby game last week, on friday.

I play for Wainui Beach School, and last week our rugby game was a bit different, because we faced Cobham Elgin and Awapuni School, on the same day. This game was another grading game? it was an away game. We were playing our game at Awapuni school so Elgin would be going to Awapuni school as well. So my team would face Elgin first for 30 minutes so 15 minutes would be half time. After our game with Elgin we would play Awapuni and Elgin will watch on the side line when that game finished Elgin would face Awapuni.

The game started I wasn't on in till second half so I was just watching Reef catch the ball from the kick of, when I was not looking I heard lots of cheering!! and I look back at the game and see Reef get a run away try, let go!! the score was 5-0. 5 minutes later Momo got another TRY, and then Rori got a try a bit after that. 

When I got on the field I was ready. Bang as I kick the ball we chase after it. Bang,smack as I tackle someone. Awapuni had 4 tries already and we had 0. I catch the ball from the line out and I started to run, swish as I got thought a little gap. I was running as hard as I could. I had 6 people behind me and I got tackled 5 meters before the try line.

Oska blew over and then Rori pass the ball out to Cory, Cory caught the ball and ran straight- smack on the ground he got a try!!! Lets go!!!! At the end of the game the score was 35-5 to Awapuni and Elgin VS Wainui score 60-15. We had lots of fun we won one game and lots 1 game THE END.

MMM- Murder Mystery Math

 Yesterday we had MMM. This was the second to last clue but were going to find out who the killer was. We also need to find the diamonds as well. Simon robinson sex Male pet praying mantis. Saskai Walker sex Female pet goldfish. The clue was tdlhulecbmaoutyresddseasrtheaornoeal you might think what is that well we had to put that hole thing into a square. 

It only took me one try to get the right square, because Momo told my Rori and then he told me. Here's a picture of my work it might help you out even more. 

So remember all those words well I had to insert them all into one of those boxes and you start on the left and go till the end. So I remembered three of the words and went down the repeated.

AT the end it spelled the murder goes to an all boys school.

Rugby training

 Today we had school rugby training, year 4,5,6 can play school rugby at Wainui.  At the start we do some passing and blowing over.   After doing half an hour of passing ... we have a little game of rugby, but sometimes the teams are unfair. 

Tomorrow we have a rugby game and we are facing Sant Marys.  It's going to be a home game, if you don't know what a home game is, it is when the other team comes to your school.

My team and I are really hoping to be able to win our game tomorrow against St Marys, even though it is a grading game.  The grading game will decide what grade we will be in, A, B, or C, A is the top, B is the middle and C is the lowest grade. 

L3 Maths

Yesterday L3 number were learning about algorithm I learnt about them last year so I was a pro. There is a video down below explaining, how algorithms work. 

Enviro Action day

 On Wednesday, all of our school had an Enviro Action day. If you didn't know what an action day is, it's when our whole school has a big clean up or classes spend time in the gardens and all of the classes look after their kaitiaki areas.  

MLH was going to the beach to do a clean up in the area. But I was in this team called the dream team and we were staying back at school to do some planting, there was like 70 plants. So when they left we got to work, I was on the digging team I was going pretty good, the week before we had made a lasagna with cardboard, compost and seaweed.

MLH had gone to the beach to get some seaweed to put on the lasagna, so we had cardboard down first, then we got some compost and spread it all over the cardboard. The compost had apples and orange, maggots and it smells like poo, then we put the seaweed on top of it all. When it come to the digging to plant seedlings it had so much seaweed. I got sick of it so I started to pull it all off and put it in the wheelbarrow.

At the end it was really fun because it was a good experience and we got to play a game at the end.  

Getting Cybersmart

On Tuesday all of the people in MLH were going to get more cybersmart and this time we were going to play a game called interland. This game has four maps and they all help you stay safe online, me and my buddy Nathan were on the blue map.

On the blue map we were learning to not share your private information to people you don't know because they could hack you and steal all your money and more. We also were learning to share the right things so like you had a video of your friend and he falls over and you had to choose who to share it to, there was public friends and family, you would share it to your friends so they don't get hard feelings. 

After you played interland you had to make a flip grid about 3 things you learnt and as we were about to do our flip grid I had to go to the dentist and Nathan said he was waiting for like 20 minutes so he had to do it by his self.   

WALK!

 Hi im Cash and today my blog is about yesterdays walk to douglas and moana RD.  You might be wondering what were they doing on the walk?   Well we were delivering surveys about little blue penguins.  The survey asked if they had seen any little blue penguins, because they are mostly seen at douglas and moana RD and we want to find then to build them homes because people are building where there homes were and then they looking for new homes and the dogs a stots eat them and now the are a endangered animal. 

Week 7 Camp Kaitawa 2021

Hi my name is Cash and im a year 6 from Wainui Beach School and this is my slide's about year 6s going to camp Kaitawa.

On the slide's it has writing for what we did on each day and how i felt. I have also put some of the pictures for each thing we did I hope you like it. 

Kapa Haka

We got to the showgrounds by bus on our way to the showgrounds w sang lots of songs and we even did the haka. I was in front row we had to where a poupou. I was really excited to do our kapa haka performance.

We sang e te ariki first. Lots of people started clapping when we started to sing. After we finished e te ariki we sang utaina mai after. Then after we sang utaina mai the boys did the haka for utaina mai and the girls sang it again. In the middle of utaina the boy came up to the front. Then the kia started of the haka the crowd was cheering loudly. But the haka was to fast but it was still amazing. Then we transferred into r

Then all of the moana syndicate sang rona and the girls did the poe. After that we sang wainui we sang it again but it was the girls who stayed, on and sang the rest of the song and the boys went of the stage and then the girls went of one by one. 

Movie day

On Wednesday we were having a movie day and the whole of Moana Syndicate got to see it. You could also get popcorn and pizza for $10 but if you didn't want pizza you could just get popcorn. I got Hawaiian pizza and popcorn and we watched the movie Sleepover. It was my first time watching this movie so I didn't know if it was a good movie or not. We got our popcorn and then we started the movie. As soon as it started it looked like a good movie well I'm going to skip to the good part. There were 4 kids and a mum and dad and then the mum's friend  

They were at the Queen's Ball trying to steal the Queen's crown. They had a fake ID and they got in. They had put poison on one hand and when they shook the Queen's hand she would get really sick. Then they could steal the crown but the dad messed it all up and touched the hand with the poison and put his hand on his mouth and then he started to throw up like he was going to die. Then they got caught but then they started to fight the bodyguards then they went to go get the crown they were still fighting the bodyguards then the Queen was getting escorted away but then the friend told the mum's kid to get the crown and they got it.

But then the friend tricked them and took the crown and ran away and got someone to try and kill the family but the mum didn't let that happen. They had a fight with the hitman and the mum won and then they went to chase the friend. To get the crown and return it to the queen they caught the friend and then they had to chase him on foot. Then they caught him and got the crown and return it to the queen and he was sentenced 30 years to jail. THE END

Golden child

 In Room 2 yesterday are teacher showed our class a new game it was called golden child. It was my first time playing it so the teacher esplandi it to us.There were two teams one team was the shooter team and the other team was the running team.

The shooter team had a ball and they had to get the ball in the hoop and the runner team had to run around the netball court and make it to the other end without the shooter team get a hoop.If they did get the ball in the hoop means you have freeze if you are running.

The last person was the golden child and they did the some thing. But when the golden child passed the frozen people and then they would be un frozen and be able to run to the end.They can still get stopped from the shooting team if they get the ball in the hoop. If the golden child gets home means there team gets 5 points and for everyone else who gets to home who was frozen and they would get a one point to. The team that had the most points and the end would be the winner.The team with the least points loos   

The beach

 On a Tuesday afternoon Moana syndicate went to the beach for the afternoon me and my friends dug a big hole. Then we started to make a big wall so the water didn't destroy our creation. We called it the wall of Gisborne it survived the first wave and the second wave but then it started to collapse so we fixed it and made another wall in front of it but it collapsed on the first wave that hit it.

 Then "The wall of Gisborne" really started to collapse and we had to get some reinforcements we got some sticks and put them on the side's of the wall of Gisborne. It hit again it just about fell over this time then I went and got the biggest log I could lift and put it in front of the wall of Gisborne. Then the wave came but it was ready this time it hit and it survived the wave. Then we had to go back and I don't know if it was still standing when it got hit again by a wave and we changed the name to 'big chungus".

What I learnt this week

 At the start of the week in MLH I started to do  Maths Whizz. Math Whizz helps you improve in maths mostly what you are not that good at right now. In Math Whizz you can also get a house and buy furniture and you can get pets I have a robo dog hes name fluffy. He eats a lot you have to feed him at least every 2nd day. I have a floating chair too and I have robot vacuum cleaner too.

I do Steps with Fly if you don't know what Steps is it is a app what helps with your spelling. I used to be not that good at spelling but now I'm really good because of steps and Fly's help at school time. I do at least half an hour of steps at school but I don't do steps on Friday only if I have to do more Steps because I have not done lots of Steps. There are levels on Steps and the higher the level the harder spelling words you get.

What learnt this week in Room 2

 When I got to school on Monday I  started doing Maths Whizz. If you don't know what Maths Whizz it is a maths game that helps your maths. Mostly it is helping you in what you are struggling in maths. I get mostly (the time) maths questions. I was bad at the time because it was not digital but i'm really good now.                   (On the side is Math Whizz.)

Then after lunch we did  LTP. I went to Makey Makey in Room 2. Makey makey is mostly has electronic. There were these bees bots that you  make a track for and then you set the directions and make it the checkpoint. There was also this Makey makey pack it had lots of stuff I don't know the name of. So in the Makey makey box there were these wires and you had to connect them to your chromebook. Then you can get some tin foil and play the piano on your with tin foil on your chromebook.

I do Steps not many people do steps in MLH. Steps helps you with your spelling. Some times when you are finished you can play games, if Fly lets you. I do steps instead of word work. I like doing steps with Fly. She helps me with my priorities as well.
